REQUESTS WERE MADE TO FACILITATE AND SUPPORT NTO MEMBERS\u2019 ACCESS TO LOW-INTEREST BANK LOANS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting, organized by the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce (NTO), was attended by branch managers of various banks. The bank managers were welcomed by NTO Chairman of the Board Nuri Arslan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, which brought together bank branches registered with the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce, emphasis was placed on the importance of enabling Chamber members to benefit from low-interest and long-term financing opportunities. A video presentation was also shown highlighting the Chamber\u2019s projects and lobbying activities carried out since 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting included evaluations of the finance sector\u2019s performance in 2025, as well as expectations and forecasts for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening the meeting, Nuri Arslan stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are holding the first sector meeting of 2026 with representatives of the finance sector. This is also the third meeting we have organized together with the finance sector. We have shared with you all the projects and activities we have carried out since taking office in 2013, especially the construction of our new service building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our starting point was merely a 140-square-meter apartment office. Today, we have reached a stage where our Chamber has become a complex capable of meeting not only the needs of Chamber members but also the meeting and training requirements of institutions and organizations throughout the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nazilli Chamber of Commerce serves Nazilli city center and six surrounding districts. Our primary responsibility is to address the problems and expectations of our members. Within our authority and capabilities, we continue to voice these issues at every meeting and on every platform.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arslan emphasized that one of the most important concerns expressed by members is the inability of Chamber members to benefit from the tradesmen\u2019s credit guarantee loan system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBusinesses registered with tradesmen\u2019s chambers can benefit from Halkbank-backed loans even if they operate in the same sector, employ the same number of workers, and have similar turnover figures as companies registered with the Chamber of Commerce. However, Chamber members remain excluded from this system. Our efforts to secure legislative amendments on this issue are continuing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the representatives of the finance sector, Arslan added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe expect your support in helping our members access financing opportunities under favorable conditions. Nearly all of our small and medium-sized enterprises are facing financial difficulties. Credit support from banks and financial institutions is of vital importance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arslan also discussed the redevelopment of the historic Nazilli S\u00fcmerbank Textile Printing Factory, originally inaugurated by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk in 1937 and operating continuously until 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described the factory as one of T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s earliest industrial facilities and emphasized its historical and social significance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith more than 3,000 employees, the factory not only provided employment but also served the people of Nazilli and the surrounding region for many years, contributing greatly to social and economic development. It was a model facility far ahead of its time and played a leading role in the region\u2019s economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Arslan noted that today the factory requires urgent repair, renovation, and restoration work. The factory area was allocated to Ayd\u0131n Adnan Menderes University in 2003 with the intention of continuing to serve educational purposes, but only a very small portion of the campus has been utilized since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that many of the buildings and hangars within the site urgently require strengthening and renovation, adding that restoring the abandoned structures would create an important production and commercial center for the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce, they are requesting the allocation of 63,000 square meters of the unused factory area to the Chamber. If granted, the site would include facilities such as a fairground, regional commercial enterprises, and local product sales units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arslan stressed the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in bringing the S\u00fcmerbank Factory back into the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also highlighted another major issue facing the region: the shortage of industrial and commercial land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe cannot provide industrial or commercial areas for entrepreneurs who are ready to establish businesses with their own capital. We want to accelerate the establishment of the Nazilli 2nd Organized Industrial Zone. We are ready to cooperate with all local institutions and organizations on this issue. Our region can only develop through production and exports.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arslan explained that the proposed location east of Toygar and Esenk\u00f6y faced difficulties because it was designated as a first-degree protected archaeological site. He suggested that a nearby 1,300-decare area could serve as an alternative and noted that this proposal had been communicated across all relevant platforms, including members of parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concluding his remarks, Arslan thanked all participants for attending the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bank representatives expressed their appreciation to the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce for hosting the event and stated that continuing such meetings would positively contribute to the regional economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by branch managers of public and private banks operating in Nazilli, Bozdo\u011fan, Buharkent, Karacasu, Kuyucak, Sultanhisar, and Yenipazar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
