The Nazilli Chamber of Commerce (NTO)<\/strong> hosted its traditional 2026 Certified Public Accountants Meeting<\/strong> at the Chamber’s headquarters, bringing together certified public accountants from Nazilli and the surrounding districts to discuss current developments, strengthen institutional cooperation, and exchange views on issues affecting the business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants were welcomed by NTO Chairman Nuri Arslan<\/strong> and Assembly Chairman S\u00fcleyman G\u00fcrb\u00fcz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by J\u00fclide Vardar Bekem<\/strong>, Chair of the Ayd\u0131n Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (SMMMO)<\/strong>, members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, and certified public accountants from across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, a presentation highlighted the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce’s activities since 2013, including major projects, ongoing initiatives, advocacy efforts, and services developed in response to members’ needs. The presentation emphasized that the Chamber is a member-oriented institution<\/strong>, carrying out economic and social initiatives in addition to its statutory responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants also received updates regarding Trade Registry Office procedures<\/strong> and recent amendments to relevant legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J\u00fclide Vardar Bekem: “This Meeting Represents Strong Institutional Cooperation”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the participants, Ayd\u0131n Chamber of Certified Public Accountants Chair J\u00fclide Vardar Bekem<\/strong> stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I regard the annual meeting organized by the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce as an excellent example of cooperation among professional organizations with shared objectives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

We are gathered once again for this traditional meeting, which has become an important platform for institutional collaboration. I believe these meetings are highly beneficial both for certified public accountants and for the Chamber of Commerce.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

As professional organizations, we work diligently for the benefit of our members and taxpayers. Every institution may encounter operational challenges; what matters most is minimizing these challenges through constructive dialogue and cooperation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Nazilli Chamber of Commerce has openly shared its projects and activities with us. I can confidently say that NTO is one of T\u00fcrkiye’s exemplary professional organizations. I sincerely thank Chairman Nuri Arslan, the Board of Directors, and everyone who contributed to organizing this valuable event.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nuri Arslan: “We Consider Certified Public Accountants One of Our Most Important Stakeholders”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Opening the meeting, NTO Chairman Nuri Arslan<\/strong> emphasized the important role certified public accountants play in supporting the Chamber’s members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are delighted to come together once again for our traditional annual meeting with certified public accountants. We share many common objectives, foremost among them supporting the sustainability and success of our members’ businesses.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The services we provide as institutions ultimately serve the same businesses\u2014our members and your clients. For this reason, we highly value the important work carried out by certified public accountants.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Arslan also briefed participants on the Chamber’s current initiatives, the economic challenges facing the region, and the measures being implemented to improve Chamber services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce operates as a non-political institution dedicated solely to serving its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We constantly strive to improve the quality of our services. Your opinions and recommendations are invaluable in shaping our future projects and activities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

At every opportunity, I present detailed briefings to ministry officials, Members of Parliament, and other public authorities regarding the needs of our region, together with proposals and project files prepared on behalf of our members.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Equal Financing Opportunities for Chamber Members<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Arslan reiterated the Chamber’s long-standing call for businesses registered with chambers of commerce to benefit from a financing mechanism comparable to the Artisan Credit Guarantee Loan Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“One of the issues we consistently raise with policymakers is the need for a low-interest financing system for small and medium-sized enterprises registered with chambers of commerce.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Although the existing financing program provided through Halkbank relies on public resources, it is available only to businesses registered with artisans’ chambers. We therefore continue our efforts to secure legislative amendments or establish a new financing mechanism that provides equal opportunities for Chamber members.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Expanding Industrial and Commercial Investment Areas<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Arslan emphasized that the region urgently requires additional industrial and commercial land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted the Chamber’s efforts to establish the Nazilli Second Organized Industrial Zone (Nazilli 2nd OIZ)<\/strong> in the Toygar\u2013Esenk\u00f6y area, noting that although the declaration of part of the proposed site as a protected area has created new challenges, an alternative location immediately to the east remains highly suitable for industrial development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This project cannot succeed through the efforts of the Chamber alone. It requires close cooperation among all public institutions and stakeholders. Once completed, it will create new investment opportunities, generate employment, and significantly improve regional prosperity.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Promoting Geographical Indication Products<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Arslan reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to protecting and promoting the region’s unique local products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We continue obtaining Geographical Indication registration for our traditional products and actively promote them in national and international markets. Our successful participation in the Geographical Indications Promotion Event held at TOBB Headquarters in Ankara demonstrates the importance we attach to preserving and promoting our regional heritage.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Revitalizing the Historic S\u00fcmerbank Factory<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Arslan also presented the Chamber’s proposal to restore the historic Nazilli S\u00fcmerbank Textile Factory<\/strong> and return it to productive economic use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chamber has requested the allocation of 63,000 square meters<\/strong> of the factory’s 230,402-square-meter<\/strong> site to implement a comprehensive regional development project that would include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • A modern exhibition and fair center,<\/li>
  • The S\u00fcmer Industrial Museum<\/strong>,<\/li>
  • A textile factory dedicated to producing the historic Nazilli Printed Cotton Fabric (Nazilli Basmas\u0131)<\/strong>,<\/li>
  • Agricultural processing and agribusiness facilities,<\/li>
  • Sales and exhibition areas for geographically indicated local products,<\/li>
  • The reactivation of the historic G\u0131d\u0131 G\u0131d\u0131 Railway Line<\/strong>,<\/li>
  • Social and recreational facilities,<\/li>
  • And numerous additional projects designed to stimulate regional economic growth.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    “We firmly believe that close cooperation among public institutions is essential to bringing the historic S\u00fcmerbank Factory back into productive use for the benefit of future generations.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Concluding his remarks, Chairman Arslan thanked J\u00fclide Vardar Bekem<\/strong>, the members of the Ayd\u0131n Chamber of Certified Public Accountants, and all participants for attending the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
