Camel Wrestling

Camel wrestling, which is held every year in all our districts, is a part of Aydın Culture. Camel wrestling, which emerged due to the competition between nomads and camps in history, traditionally reached today. These events, which take place in a festive atmosphere and bring dynamism to the district, are organized in the winter months.

Needle Lace:

Handcrafted embroidery, which is still used in many fields from headscarves to Efe clothes, from pouches to veils used for different purposes, has taken its place as “Turkish Lace” in the world literature.

Local Folklore:

Zeybek leaders, called Efe, depict a body show with the choreography of bravery and heroism. Zeybek folk dances are a local dance performed with short trousers called Güdük, long knee-high boots, fez, shirts, and belts.

Rahvan Horse Races:

The horse is one of the most important elements in nomadic life, which is the way of life of our ancestors. At the beginning of the various competitions organized in order to ensure that the horses are better and of higher quality, rahvan horse races come first. With these races of our ancestors, they test the strength, martial arts and skills of their horses. Today, this legacy continues to be kept alive. These races, which have been an important sport branch since the Ottoman Empire, continue to create enthusiasm for thousands of people by organizing. At the end of the races that last until the evening hours, the awards are presented to the horse owners and jockeys.
